The uniform is a model 1923 which was worn by officers of both the army and the airforce.

Fig. 2 (right) Danish private 1940
He is wearing the old model 1864 coat and a grey uniform beneath. In 1940 the uniform was in progress of being exchanged with the brown uniform, but at the time of the occupation in 1940, the Danish soldiers were still wearing a mixture of grey and brown uniforms. The steelhelmet is a model 1923 with the Danish insignia on the front.

At the back he is carrying a Madsen 7.92 mm M1924 machinegun.
